As reported by CRA, “In the event you have not heard, Bill 204 – – Safer Spaces for Victims of Domestic Violence passed 3rd reading in the Legislature by a unanimous vote of 62-0.
In spite of our collective letters to the Government and all MLA’s pointing out deficiencies in this badly flawed Bill it was passed. We were not the only ones who expressed concern about this Bill. Many other organizations also raised concerns. Unfortunately our input and request to have the Bill delayed pending further consultation was ignored.
The implementation of the Bill has been delayed pending some consultation and the development of the Regulations. This will take several months and we expect to be involved in that process.
So, does this sound like what the Farmers have just experienced with Bill 6?
We will keep you posted as we move forward.
