The Downtown East Village is a residential neighbourhood within the eastern portions of downtown Calgary. It is contained within the city’s Rivers District. Calgary’s Chinatown is located in the northern portion of the Downtown East Village.
Many new residential projects have been recently completed such as the brand new Evolution and First residential buildings and more are under construction. A recently re-developed river walkway and easy access to the downtown core are a two of the main features of this area. The classic Simmons building with it’s iconic brick facade has been transformed into Charbar, a collaborative and unique concept destined to be a culinary destination, not unlike it’s sister restaurant Charcut. Partnered with Sidewalk Citizen Bakery and Phil Sebastian Coffee Roasters.
